Lupita Nyong’o doesn’t have short hair anymore!
The Us Weekly 2015 Best Dressed List winner looked fierce in long, braided locks on Wednesday, Sept. 2, while in NYC, where she’s currently working on the upcoming Off-Broadway play Eclipsed. She wore her new look with a casual white tank and black sports bra and topped off the effortless vibe with a pair of sunglasses.
The Star Wars: The Force Awakens actress’ new style comes on the heels of her change from her signature close-cropped locks to longer natural curls, which she debuted at the Disney D23 expo on Aug. 15.

The latest hair makeover may not come as a surprise to Nyong'o's Instagram followers, who glimpsed a peek at the braided strands secured in a side-braid.
In the image, Nyong'o stands, cross-armed, on block letters in a striped tank, black shorts, shades, and a baseball cap. "#defiance," she wrote.

Eclipsed, which opens on Oct. 14 at the Public Theater in Manhattan, is centered around a group of women held captive by rebels fighting the Liberian government in 2003, according to the New York Times.
